Clip Health® Previewed its New Over the Counter COVID-19 Test at the 2022 AACC Annual Scientific Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo

Clip Health was one of over 700 exhibitors at this year’s American Association of Clinical Chemistry (AACC) Annual Scientific Meeting held in Chicago at the McCormick Place Convention Center on July 24 – 28, demonstrating the fastest rapid antigen test on the market. Their newest COVID-19 test was submitted to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for emergency use authorization this month and will launch by the end of September. “This is a game changer in this market,” said Dave Schmidt, the Director of Sales and Marketing. “Now families can be tested in a matter of minutes and have the confidence to go about their daily lives knowing they are disease free.”

As COVID cases continue to rise throughout the country, it is clear the pandemic is not over. To help Americans cope with the impacts of the disease as it reaches an endemic state, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) has updated its guidance on COVID. Individuals can now make their own decisions regarding the level of risk they are willing to take and how to mitigate it, although the CDC still recommends wearing a high-quality mask, watching for symptoms for ten days, and then getting tested on the fifth day. With the consensus being testing is here to stay, the speed at which you can get your results is monumental.

AACC is dedicated to achieving better health through laboratory medicine, bringing together thousands of medical professionals and healthcare leaders focused on clinical chemistry, molecular diagnostics, mass spectrometry, translational medicine, lab management, and other areas of progressing laboratory science. This year’s meeting featured groundbreaking diagnostic advances helping solve challenging patient health problems. As the organization continues to work on enhancing scientific collaboration, knowledge, expertise, and innovation, they are affirming just how essential laboratory medicine professionals are to patient safety and care.
