New additions include Vice President appointments for Assay & Product Development, Quality & Regulatory
Fremont, Calif – May 30, 2022 – Clip Health, a pioneer in the development of accessible and accurate diagnostics, has made two skilled additions to its leadership team. To continue innovating towards the Company’s product vision of diagnostics-enabled “full stack” healthcare, Clip Health welcomes Maria-Nefeli Tsaloglou, PhD as Vice President of Assay & Product Development, and Cynthia Merrell as Vice President of Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs. Both bring relevant and interdisciplinary experience needed to position Clip Health as a creative problem solver for current and future community health challenges.
The additions of Tsaloglou and Merrell come at a time when the need for accurate decentralized testing is at a boiling point as the world has benefited greatly from point-of-care and home use COVID-19 diagnostics and looks to adapt other disease areas to the decentralized paradigm. Deep experience in product development, with its associated rigorous regulatory and quality benchmarks, are critical to navigating FDA pathways and rapidly bringing health testing solutions to both the clinical and consumer markets.
Tsaloglou brings more than 18 years of experience as a science and technology leader, with R&D experience in academia, government, non-profit and the health industry. In 2014, she received a Marie Curie International Outgoing Fellowship to develop paper-based diagnostic devices at the Whitesides Research Group. Tsaloglou is also credited with co-inventing the first generations of CRISPR-based diagnostic devices.
Merrell brings more than 30 years of experience in quality and regulatory validation and compliance for the medical products industry. She has been instrumental in launching both U.S. and O.U.S. products, achieving FDA clearance and CE mark respectively for an impressive list of device and diagnostic solutions.
“With the addition of Nefeli and Cynthia, the breadth of experience and expertise provided by our expanded leadership team enhances Clip Health’s ability to accelerate our pipeline of products to market,” said Bala Raja, CEO of Clip Health. “We are proud to add two of biotech’s brightest to lead us with the proven practical knowledge and creative ingenuity needed to solve our world’s biggest health problems.”
